Believed to have formed about 29 million years ago from the impact of a meteor in the Libyan desert, this rare golden wonder has been valued since ancient times. King Tut was buried with a scarab on his chest that was carved from this material, and specimens have been found of Libyan Desert Glass that were sharpened into weapons.
